Applying

Does it cost anything to apply?

No. It is free to apply. Mirunzini will never ask you for an application fee, and no one may charge you one on our behalf.

Who can apply?

Artists, theatre-makers, performers, musicians, dancers, storytellers, facilitators and industry practitioners from Limpopo and across South Africa.

We are a group or a company. Who applies?

One person applies for the whole group, gives the company name and lists the people who will be on stage.

Can my work go into more than one category?

Yes. One application can go into every category that fits it.

How many applications can I send?

Up to five, separate from any films you enter at the Film Festival.

I am under 18. Can I apply?

Yes. A parent or guardian gives their details and consent in the portal before your application is complete.

Your sample

How do I show you my work?

Share a link to a video or audio recording: YouTube (unlisted), Vimeo, Google Drive or SoundCloud. Keep it working until 5 December. See sharing your sample.

We haven't recorded this piece yet.

Send a recording of recent work, and describe the new piece in the application.

Does the work need to be in English?

No. Perform in any South African language.

Your details

Why do you ask for my ID number?

It confirms who you are, keeps it to one account per person, and lets us pay selected artists. Only the festival office can see it. The selection panel never does.

After you apply

Can I change my application after I submit?

You can edit it until applications close, and you can withdraw it at any time from the portal.

Will I be paid?

There is an optional box for the fee you need. The festival will tell selected artists whether fees are available.

If I'm selected, when do I perform?

On 4 or 5 December 2026 in Thohoyandou. When you apply you confirm you can be there on one of those days.
